Only one year to go until approximately 4,350 athletes from 178 countries assemble in Rio for the 2016 Paralympic Games. They will be competing for a total of 176 Gold medals of which some athletes have been working their whole lives to attain.
Although the Australian team will not be selected for some time yet there are number of SASI athletes to keep an eye on. One constant from the past Games, Libby Kosmala, will be aiming to make her 12th and possibly last Paralympics in shooting. On the opposite end of the scale the likes of Gabriel Cole (athletics), Elizabeth Sobecki (equestrian) and Sam White (wheelchair Basketball) will all be looking to make their first Games. Other SASI athletes to look out for in athletics will be Michael Roeger (1500m) and Brayden Davidson (Long Jump) who have both set a new world mark in their respective events in 2015.
Get behind our paralympic potentials as we follow their journey on the road to Rio.
