McArthur secures World Cup bronze in Duisburg

Cat MacArthur has delivered a strong performance to achieve her first medal at senior level with a bronze in the women’s K1 1000 on the opening day of the ICF World Cup in Duisburg, Germany.
McArthur, who also placed 7th in the semi-final of the K1 200, said that she was “absolutely thrilled” with her podium result.
Matt Goble just missed the A final of the men’s K4, finishing the heat in fourth place. Goble and his crew bounced back well to take the win in their B-Final.
After producing a new personal best in the preliminary rounds, Josephine Bulmer made it to her first international C1 final, where she placed 7th in the C1 200. Bulmer also finished fourth in the C1 5000.
The focus for the Australian team now turns to the ICF World Sprint Championships in Montemor o Velho Portugal from 23 – 26 August 2018.
