SASI divers Matthew Carter and Brodie Scapens will help fly the flag for Australia as part of a 12-member team set to compete at the World Cup in Wuhan, China, between June 1 and 10.

The duo earned their place on the team with a strong showing at the recent Australian Open Championship at Brisbane's Sleeman Sports Complex.

Matthew dominated in the synchronised diving events winning a Gold with Domonic Bedggood in the 3m synchro and a Gold in the mixed 3m synchro with Georgia Sheehan. To finish-off his performance at the Open Championships Matthew won Silver in the individual 3m event.

Brodie also enjoyed a top meet, pairing with Ross Todd to take out the 10m synchro and winning the mixed 10m with AnnaRose Keating.

Rising star Macie Wheeler also excelled at the Open titles by making finals in both her 1m and 3m springboard events. SASI diving coach Aurelie Gibson said Macie's effort was excellent and that "she dove really well in both events".

SASI athletes also featured strongly at the recent Diving Australia annual awards night.

Recently retired athlete Taneka Kovchenko took out the 2017 Sportsperson of the Year award, while in the Australian Elite Junior Awards category Ross Todd won the Group A Male Diver of the Year. Kate Rosman also earned the Female Diver of the Year award in the Group B category.
