SOUTH Australia's rising stars in the diving world stood tall to produce outstanding results at the recent Australian Elite Junior Diving Championships in Brisbane, while SASI coach Aurelie Gibson won the elite junior coach of the year award with Jack Taylor (Victoria).
Aurelie said she was thrilled with the SASI team's effort and honoured to have won the coach award with Taylor.
"This was a fantastic result from our team,'' Aurelie said.
"They learned a lot but one of the things I was so proud of was their care for each other and how they supported each other.
"For me this is one of my biggest thrills and to receive that award was the icing on the cake.''
SASI athletes were prominent in many events. Jaxon Bowshire won three gold medals in individual events and teamed with Bailey Flynn to snare gold in the C/D Boys 3m Synchro, earning Jaxon the best diver of the meet in his C/D category. Bailey also claimed silver in the Junior C Boys 1m.
Kate Rosman paired with Lauren Flint (NSW) to grab gold in the Girls A/B 3m Synchro to go with her two individual silver medals, while Louis Fazzalari dazzled in the Junior B Boys 1m for a gold, while earning silver in the Junior B Boys 3m.
Macie Wheeler took bronze in the Junior B girls 3m, while Luke Marshall performed well to finish with a silver in the Junior A Boys Platform.
