PREPARATIONS are finished and now it is time for action for athletes competing in the UCI BMX world championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, this week in junior and elite classes.

Anthony Dean, now living in San Diego, will fly the flag for Australia and SASI in the elite men's class and will compete on the track which was used for the 2015 European Games.

Dean, 27, is happy with his lead-in work and is looking forward to mixing it with the world's best.

''My preparation has been great and I am feeling good,'' Dean said.

"All my marks are getting ticked off and we're right on track.''

Reigning UCI world champion Corben Sharrah is expected to be tough to beat again in the men's elite category.
