Moore wins all important Continental title

With a ticket to Paris on the line, Australian All Around champion Jesse Moore delivered when it mattered most.
The SASI athlete who won the national title on the Gold Coast earlier this month, can now add Oceania Continental champion to his resume and pending confirmation from the FIG, he is destined for the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics competition at the Paris Olympic Games.
“I am pretty speechless right now, I don’t really know what to think,” the 21-year-old South Australian said. “This has been my dream since starting gymnastics.
“I was really nervous. This is probably one of the biggest competitions of my life.”
The competition, staged in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday afternoon, was tense across all six apparatus as Australian teammates Clay Mason Stephens (second) and Heath Thorpe (third) nipped at Jesse’s heels.
It appeared as if Jesse had let his shot at glory slip when he came off the High Bar twice, but ultimately his consistency – his total score was 80.332 - and his stellar efforts on Pommel (14.466) and Vault (14.333) propelled him to a gold medal to cap off a remarkable month.
"I can never do it the easy way, that's for sure,” he said.
