SASI scholars/graduates Kyle Chalmers, Matt Temple, Meg Harris and Zac Incerti have been selected to a 41-strong swimming team set to represent Australia in the pool at the Paris Olympics.

For Chalmers this will be his third Olympics, while Temple, Harris and Incerti are returning for their second Games.

Chalmers will be looking to make history in Paris with a win in the men’s 100m freestyle.

At the Rio 2016 Olympics, Chalmers was just 18-years-old when he showed the world what he was capable of and claimed the gold medal in this event.

In Tokyo, he came agonisingly close to defending his title, finishing just 0.06sec behind American Caeleb Dressel, capturing the silver in a pb-equalling time of 47.08sec.

Temple also has his sights firmly set on bringing home an individual medal from Paris, after winning two relay bronze medals at the Tokyo Olympics,

"I have one big goal in mind – my main event is the 100m butterfly, obviously I’d like to make an Olympic final and if I can get on the podium and achieve my goal at an individual medal at the Paris Olympic Games, I think that’d be pretty exciting and I’d be over the moon," Temple said.

"You train for four years for a 50 second race so you have got to make sure it all comes together well and perfect."

The selection followed the conclusion of an incredible week of racing by athletes at the Australian Swimming Trials.

Australian Olympic Team Chef de Mission for Paris 2024 Anna Meares said this was a time to celebrate for athletes after a week of fierce competition.

"I am delighted to announce our Dolphins who have earned their place in the Australian Olympic Team for Paris 2024," Meares said.

"We have witnessed an extraordinary week of the toughest competition. The way these athletes have driven each other has made such an impact.

"To the parents, families and supporters whose passion has been evident this week, I say thank you for the contribution you have made. To Swimming Australia and the coaches – you have produced an amazing high-performance environment to bring us to this point.

"My congratulations to every athlete – you can all be very proud of what you have achieved."
